Your Devon and Cornwall Wedding - May/June 2020 (Issue 25)
On the day itself, the sun was shining and our church and wedding venue both looked magical. We had wooden table numbers placed on each table and the place names were made using cards cut out in the shape of hummingbirds sat on each wine glass. Our chosen venue suited our taste and requirements perfectly. It had a very fine English feel to it and the grounds were stunning. Our table plan consisted of two flower planters filled with fresh spring flowers and featured the numbers and names for each table mounted on bamboo sticks and planted between the flowers – it looked so pretty! L ee-Ann and Gary met on a night out with friends. “This was 17 years ago now, we have known one another a long time!” Lee-Ann tells us. The couple became engaged during a surprise proposal in October 2017 at Gary’s parent’s house where he had organised a big family get together. “He had just completed the Great West Run so I thought this was the reason for the party,” Lee-Ann explains. “He arranged for me to arrive last in order to get the family arranged in the garden. He gave our two sons, nieces and nephews a letter card each to hold up that spelt the words ‘will you marry me!’ It was such a wonderful surprise!” Here, Lee-Ann tells us about their big day at the stunning Rockbeare Manor with a spring theme. Our guests loved the mouth-watering dishes and drinks prepared and served by the team at Rockbeare Manor. 36
