LIFE’S A BEACH Leah and Jon enjoyed a barefoot beach wedding Images courtesy of Robin Kitchin Photography Leah McHardy married Jon Cook at Lusty Glaze Beach in Newquay, Cornwall on 11 th August 2018. L eah and Jon first met at a beach barbecue and instantly discovered that they shared a common interest in outdoor pursuits. “Leah had just arrived back from a trip to Australia and was looking super tanned and pretty,” Jon says. Leah adds, “Jon caught my eye when he decided to go skinny dipping with his mate for a laugh!” Jon proposed to Leah in Oahu, Hawaii on Sunset Beach in the middle of a three-month surf trip. “He had secretly planned a luxurious break for us and rented a beachside cabin,” Leah tells us. “After a day spent surfing and messing around in the water, he went off to get us some dinner and wine to enjoy on the beach. He came back with a bottle of champagne and as we watched the sunset, he got down on one knee in the sand and asked me to marry him!” Jon had been planning to propose for a few months and had managed to keep the ring quiet. “He had a beautiful engagement ring made several months before the trip by Tegen Jewellery located in Cornwall,” Leah tells us. “He designed it, it’s a wave curling over a diamond and is stunning.” Here, Leah tells us more about the couple’s celebration at Lusty Glaze Beach...
