Your Devon and Cornwall Wedding - Mar/Apr 2020 (Issue24)

Our first dance was to the song Baby Shark ! We asked all of the children to join us on the dancefloor and join hands while we pulled out some flashing glasses to wear during it. We had a disco in the evening and the playlist was a mix of requests from each of our guests. This was followed by a rave for the adults complete with glow sticks, glasses and foam tubes. We took a bit of time out from everyone and headed to the beach for some couple shots that looked beautiful. I suddenly realised I wouldn’t be able to walk on the rocks in my wedding shoes so a stranger kindly lent me their flip-flops! After our ceremony, welcome drinks were served with pirate sword bubbles and eye patches for the children to entertain themselves with whilst the photographs were taking place. We arranged to get married late in the afternoon because we wanted as many of our guests as possible to meet us on the beach at 9am to do some surfing and play some games. Almost 60 of them attended and the weather was amazing! Many of the little ones got to experience surfing for the first time courtesy of The North Devon Surf School. We wanted to have a fun family day that everyone would remember. Our two bridesmaids looked so beautiful in their midnight blue dresses teamed with elegant hair accessories and seaside-themed jewellery. My father wore a Scottish kilt.
