I have coloured hair that often feels dry so how can I best prepare it for the sun, sea and chlorine? Lisa says: Preparing your hair for your honeymoon is often overlooked with the emphasis being on the wedding day itself so here are a few basic tips: • Invest in a quality hair mask like the Goldwell Dualsenses Rich Repair 60 SEC Treatment that’s a luxury yet affordable product that will build protein into the strands. Apply it weekly in the months leading up to your honeymoon. • Using a wide-tooth comb to apply product will help cover all of the hair with the treatment, from the root to the ends. Leave product on hair for as long as possible for deeper nourishment and to help strengthen it. • Letting your hair air dry as much as possible so that less heat is used on it will result in less damage to your locks. • When heading to sunnier climes, using hair products that help protect it from the rays and keep it hydrated are a must. I recommend Goldwell Dualsenses Sun Reflects UV Protect Spray which is a honeymoon must-have and works best when applied to hair prior to sun or chlorine exposure. Spring fever Can you give me some hair inspiration for my spring wedding? I have long, blonde locks. Liane says: Heated rollers are a great way to prepare your hair for any style because they give it body. Using hair spray and products will make it easier to work with than when it’s freshly washed. A trend at the moment for long hair is for soft, loose curls to be worn down, or to be casually pinned up with a few tendrils framing the face. Adding plaits and subtle twists to the hair is an elegant way of wearing it off your face. A pretty look for a spring wedding is to dot gypsophila throughout the plaits. Alternatively, accessories such as hair vines and individual pins can be worn at the side of the hair, while flower crowns are always a popular choice and look best worn with longer locks.
