Your Devon and Cornwall Wedding - Jan/Feb 2020 (Issue 23)
We also had Mason jars displaying flowers hung on the chairs for the ceremony that then got recycled and dotted around the barn during the dinner. We opted for blue, pink, yellow and white varieties that looked like wild blooms teamed with foliage. We decided on trestle tables decorated with hessian table runners. We dotted jars of flowers along them and left space for the sharing boards and salad bowls. Our table numbers were simple yet effective, made using craft paper and placed at the end of each row of tables. Our guests loved Bertie, our vintage ice cream van that served our dessert. It was a nice way for everyone to mingle. We used craft luggage tags for our place names that were tied to bags of shortbread made by my stepgranny and stepmother and given as favours. Needless to say, we didn’t have any left over! “Liam’s sister runs the florist Wild at Heart in London and she kindly helped us with all of our flower arrangements on the day, using blooms from a local wholesaler. She was amazing, we would’ve been lost without her!” - Daisy REAL WEDDINGS 43
