Your Devon and Cornwall Wedding - Jan/Feb 2020 (Issue 23)

Liam looked so handsome in his navy wool suit teamed with a grey waistcoat, white shirt and an orange tie. His groomsmen all wore their own suits to keep things relaxed and informal. The barn has a prop store containing goodies that couples can make use of. We used one of their blackboards for our table plan and another for our order of the day, and Liam wrote everything out in chalk. We had three large arrangements of flowers displayed in milk churns that were placed around the ceremony arch which were later moved outside the doors leading into the barn. The view from the venue was another deciding factor for us. The Barn at South Milton was the last venue that we viewed and we both fell in love with it. The owners Paul and Paula welcomed us straight away and Liam said he took one look at me as we walked in and saw how I couldn’t stop smiling. We wanted a wedding weekend so that we could spend more than just one day with our guests. “We placed lots of candles around the barn and up the pathway leading to it that looked magical. We hired hay bales from the farm next door and scattered them in the courtyard as seating.” - Daisy 42
