Your Devon and Cornwall Wedding - November/December 2019 (Issue 22)
“I felt excited, emotional and nervous on the day. I just couldn’t wait to see my gorgeous bride walk down the aisle with her dad.” – Robert Robert’s uncle owns a VW Beetle that has been used for many family weddings and events so it felt right for us to incorporate it into our special day. Robert and his cousin Cameron had a go at some home brewing in time for the wedding. His usher Chris designed the labels for the bottles. Unfortunately it didn’t taste great, so we named it stale ale! Our family collected mix-and-match jars for six months leading up to our wedding. We filled them with flowers and added ribbon and displayed them as our centrepieces. Our eldest bridesmaid wore a powder blue dress with a lace bodice that looked stunning on her. I love crafting so I made our table plan using an old wooden photo frame, twine and pegs. The names and table numbers were written on to card pegged to the twine and the tables were numbered with wooden cut outs. My brother-in-law Christopher wrote the place names on craft tags using a silver marker. REAL WEDDINGS 47
