Your Devon and Cornwall Wedding - November/December 2019 (Issue 22)

St. Budock Church is our local parish one and is stunning. I always knew it was my dream to be married there and growing up in the area, Robert felt the same. We decorated our bar in the hall with signs and pastel decorations. We also created a hashtag for our wedding, #mrandmrsamy2019 Our favours were our favourite childhood sweets including bananas, shrimps and marshmellows with white chocolate pennies for the children. “We served our guests hot Cornish pasties during the afternoon and for the evening catering we chose Pizza Slice Cornwall - the menu went down very well with our guests!” – Sophie 46 S ophie and Robert met when she attended a job interview. “I looked across the shop and he was standing there looking straight at me – I wanted the job even more then!” Sophie tells us. Robert adds, “As soon as I laid eyes on her, I knew I was going to marry her. She was, and always has been, the most beautiful girl that I have ever seen, and I love her personality and the way she lights up a room.” The couple became engaged on their five-year anniversary. “Robert told me that he had planned a surprise day out,” Sophie explains. “He parked up at Castle Beach in Falmouth which is where we had enjoyed our first date. He took my hand as we went for a walk and I noticed that his was shaking. I soon understood why as he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him!” Here, Sophie tells us about their blush pink and powder blue-themed day. We wanted a venue where the little ones could run around outside and everyone could feel relaxed. The hall and its pretty courtyard was perfect.
