M elissa and Sean met at school where they found they had similar interests and goals from a young age. “We hit it off from there and Sean’s great sense of humour certainly helped,” Melissa tells us. Sean proposed on holiday in Orlando, Florida, in August 2016. “His original plan was to propose on the Hogwart’s Express at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter because I’m a big fan,” Melissa explains. “However, there were too many people around so he had another plan, which was to ask me to marry him on a quiet beach near our hotel, with the lights in Orlando as a backdrop.” Here, Melissa tells us more about their dream day at the stylish Rockbeare Manor… MAKING waves Woolacombe Bay Hotel in Devon set the scene for Rebecca and Jonathan’s coastal wedding Images courtesy of Andy Casey Photogr phy & Video R becca and Jonathan Miller mar ied at Woolacombe Bay Hotel in Devon on 6 th October 2018. REAL WEDDINGS 39  R ebecca and Jonathan were colleagues working in their local supermarket when they met. “I knew I wasn’t there permanently because I was off to university,” Rebecca tells us. “We started hanging out together at work parties, which soon progressed to socialising with our mutual friends, and there was something very special between us. I thought he was very cute and such a laugh. I sensed that he secretly liked me too.” The couple moved in together after a few months of dating when Rebecca went off to university and became engaged during a trip to Rome for her birthday in 2017. “Jonathan took me to Italy, which was so romantic,” she tells us. “During the first few days away he seemed a bit nervous and I was beginning to wonder what was up. After a day visiting t e Vatican and the Colosseum, we headed back to our hotel room where he placed a stunning diamond ring on my finger.
