Your Devon and Cornwall Wedding - November/December 2019 (Issue 22)
29 REAL WEDDINGS guests winter-themed canapés following the ceremony, with a choice of three starters, mains and desserts for the wedding breakfast. They also enjoyed an evening buffet and a simple Victoria sponge cake with butter icing and berries. LOOKING THE PART Georgia chose an elegant off-the-shoulder wedding gown with a sweetheart neckline, a figure-enhancing bodice and a full skirt. “I picked this dress because it suited my body shape,” she explains, “and I accessorized it with a floor-length veil and a pair of pearl earrings.” Dave and his groomsmen chose black suits teamed with white shirts and black bow ties while the bridesmaids picked grey floor-length gowns. “Our sisters both wore darker grey styles and my best friends were dressed in lighter tones in the same style. The dresses were elegant fit-and-flare silhouettes with spaghetti straps.” TIME TO CELEBRATE Georgia had a surprise for her new husband after their wedding breakfast. “All of our guests were invited into the bar where I had booked a surprise swing singer for him,” she tells us. “He sang a range of relaxed songs and added in some Christmas ones that our guests loved. This was followed by a DJ who had everyone up and dancing all night and a photo booth that was a real hit,” she recalls. “We have a book full of fun photographs which is a great memory.” “Dave’s cousin started to play Hallelujah on the piano that got everyone singing along. One of our friends sang very loudly and out of tune which was really funny.” – Georgia
