Your Devon and Cornwall Wedding - Sep/Oct 2019 (Issue 21)

We had our ceremony in Boconnoc church, which is more than 800 years old and is situated in the grounds of the wedding venue. Boconnoc is a beautiful restored stately home that we hired exclusively for the entire weekend. Our closest friends and family stayed in the cottages on-site and joined us for a pizza party the evening before the wedding, which was a great way of getting to know one another before the big day. We asked our guests to help capture our day for Instagram. We loved our giant illuminated LOVE letters, and so did our guests. I loved my stunning blush and ivory bouquet. “Our ceremony was so magical and personal. I felt nervous before entering the church, but when I saw Jack standing at the end of the aisle, I had never felt so sure about anything in my life.” – Georgia 48 G eorgia and Jack met at work, where she was serving on the perfume counter of a department store, and he was decorating the shop. “He arranged to accidentally bump into me as I came down the escalator and pass me his business card,” Georgia tells us. “I found out later that he had gone to the security office afterwards as he’s friends with the team in there, and checked out my reaction on the security cameras!” The couple became engaged during a holiday to Cozumel, Mexico. “We were coming to the end of our first week there and Jack had been insisting that we watch the sunset one evening,” Georgia tells us. “As we relaxed on the beach blanket with drinks and our favourite song playing in the background, he got down on one knee to ask me to marry him. Of course I said ‘yes’ but I was so surprised, I couldn’t stop crying!” Here, Georgia tells us about their special day at Boconnoc… We had a string quartet play in the church before the ceremony began. They let us choose a selection of our favourite songs so we both walked out of the church to Born to Run by Bruce Springsteen. At this point, our guests covered us in confetti, which was a wonderful moment!
