It’s situated in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, much of which is preserved by the National Trust, and offers scenic coastal walks. CLIFF HOUSE SALCOMBE, DEVON This historic, waterfront wedding venue is an iconic community building that was placed in a charitable trust in 1921 and has since been at the heart of life in Salcombe hosting weddings, dances and exhibitions as well as being home to the town council, the library and the Salcombe Yacht Club. It offers uninterrupted views across the beaches of East Portlemouth and the estuary from the outdoor terraces. Civil ceremonies take place in the library that can accommodate up to 90 guests seated (or 80 seated with 20 standing). There’s also the option of using the Assembly Room for the ceremony and this space is best suited to the reception. Up to 150 loved ones can be catered for here but it’s better for between 80 and 120 guests. Double doors lead from the Assembly Hall on to the waterfront terraces that can host a barbecue or a hog roast, and even hold a marquee. Ceremony licence?
