If you have the luxury of time, do things a bit at time. Choose your venue, get your colour palette together and go from there. Make sure you do things because they reflect you, not because you need to tick a box. Pinterest is your best friend; use it to give inspiration to your own, original ideas. We booked the wedding for August hoping for good weather but it rained all day. It didn’t stop our fun though. We embraced the Great British weather and went outside and got drenched for our pictures. We even managed to capture a huge rainbow that materialised after the ceremony. Later in the evening we had DJ Rick O’Chet perform who kept every single person dancing all night, even Brandon’s 85-year-old grandparents who were the last ones off the dancefloor! We also had a photo booth, which was extremely popular too. When it came to the food, I wanted to ensure that everyone was catered for but also that our wedding breakfast reflected our personal taste. The starter was heirloom tomato bruschetta on griddled ciabatta. Main course was a slow roasted, pulled and rolled beef feather blade. And we finished the meal with a double chocolate brownie. During the ceremony and reception a string quartet performed Bridgerton-style renditions of modern hits, and were fantastic. They provided the perfect ambience for the day. 48
