TABLEY HOUSE 01565 750 151 | www.tableyhouse.co.uk Tabley House is a Grade I listed building situated just outside of Knutsford, originally the home of the Leicester family. Built during the Georgian period its grand external staircase and imposing columns provide a most impressive entrance. Inside the elegant State Rooms, the interiors are rich with history with an impressive art collection adorning the walls and the rooms full of beautifully-crafted furniture. Each setting presents a wonderful backdrop against which to capture memories of your day. From the top of the staircase and the sundial on the lawn, there are sweeping views across to the lake, Tabley Mere. Settled on a small island amidst it is an enchanting tower, which features proudly in a painting by J.M.W. Turner. This painting now hangs in the Drawing Room at Tabley. Within the grounds is a delightful 17th-century chapel, which although not licenced for weddings, can be a charming setting for a blessing, and the traditional confetti throw. The Gallery is the most beautiful of all the State Rooms at Tabley. The surrounding décor and furniture reflect and immerse you in the splendour of the Regency era. Vows are exchanged beneath a painting by Sir Thomas Lawrence of Georgiana Maria Leicester as Hope; a fitting theme for the occasion. The Gallery is a light, airy yet intimate space for up to 100 guests, and should you choose, there’s room for musicians to perform as part of the ceremony. The Portico Room, home to wedding receptions at Tabley, overlooks the grand staircase and boasts a view across the park to the lake. Originally the main entrance hall to the House, it has displays of fine plaster work. The double doors can be opened to allow guests to step out onto the portico itself, and enjoy a glass of champagne while admiring the view. Champagne receptions, cold buffets, or Georgian tea parties can all take place within the Portico Room and the Tabley caterers or external suppliers can be used. The space caters for 100 guests buffet style or 36 guests seated at tables. As part of your wedding package, photographs can be taken throughout the State Rooms, an opportunity that also extends to the grand staircase, the grounds, and the Chapel. Best of all, you have exclusive use of the State Rooms for the day.
