All of the bouquets for the bridesmaids and matron-of-honour were made using foam flowers with diamantés in the centre of each white rose. Mine was a larger version made of silk. I had a photograph of my grandad and our dog Lil, who we sadly lost recently, attached to it so that they walked down the aisle with me. We booked a harpist to play before, during and after the ceremony. We had an arch made of white roses placed at the end of the aisle, which was later rehomed behind the top table during the wedding breakfast. We then moved it again to act as a backdrop for the cake. I walked down the aisle to I Just Called To Say I Love You by Stevie Wonder. That was the first song I learned to play on the piano at the age of nine and is my dad’s favourite. I always said I wanted to walk down the aisle with him to that tune and it was even more special since he’d been given the all clear from cancer five days beforehand. Gavin wore a dark grey suit with a sage green tie to complement the theme. His groomsmen and pageboys all wore matching grey suits, slightly lighter in colour than the groom’s and with the same sage green ties. 40
