Q&A Fashion and beauty Look and feel your big-day best with help from the professionals CRACKING UP My lips get dry and cracked in the winter. What’s your advice on the best way to combat this so as not to ruin the look of my lipstick? Hannah says: The most important thing is to hydrate your lips. To keep them smooth, lush and kissable, it’s best to exfoliate regularly too. To prep, use medium to hot water on a pad and hold to your lips to soften, then use a specialist scrub to remove all dry skin. Afterwards, pamper your pout with a laminating lip bath or mask, which will provide a real moisture boost. Applying a natural balm before bed can stop your lips getting dry, especially during the winter months. I highly recommend the Natalie Grace Cosmetics lip care kit (https://nataliegracecosmetics.com). BABY, IT’S COLD OUTSIDE I’d like to wear a stylish dress that will also keep me warm at our winter wedding. What I should look for? Hanni says: Sleeves are probably the most obvious choice and are luckily very much on trend, with so many gorgeous designs already featuring them. They can be made in a range of fabrics, from a delicate lace to a solid crepe – both of which will take the chill off of your arms on those cold winter days. They can come in a variety of styles too, such as fitted or a bohemian bell, so there’s something to suit, whatever the look you’re going for. Sleeves can also be added to most wedding dresses in the matching fabric, so ask your bridal consultant for advice on this when you’re shopping. If sleeves aren’t your thing though, you might want to opt for a removable shrug or jacket to give you two big-day looks. This way, you can keep a little warmer while you’re outside for photos, but then take it off to reveal your dream dress once inside. Designers Pronovias and Richard Designs have a great range, so they’re worth checking out for inspiration. However, bear in mind that your bridal boutique may be able to make something bespoke.
