Your Cheshire and Merseyside Wedding - November/December 2020 (Issue 54)
AND THE WINNER IS… The team at Thornton Hall Hotel & Spa is thrilled to announce their win at the LUX Life Food & Drink Awards, for Best Dining Experience in Merseyside. A representative from the venue commented, “We always go above and beyond for our guests. Whether they’re staying with us in the hotel, just popping in for a quick coffee or they’re having a celebratory meal in our restaurant, we always make sure they leave with a smile on their face. So, it’s nice to know that all of our hard work is recognised and we couldn’t be happier about this award.” Find out more at www.thorntonhallhotel.com SAVING THE DAY Heaton House Farm, like many wedding businesses, has been turned upside down by the Coronavirus pandemic. Pre-Covid, this family-run venue employed 60 staff, 30 had casual contracts, which had to be terminated, and the owners were forced to make three valued team members redundant. Determined not to cut anymore in the face of declining wedding bookings they decided to take creative action. The owners have made the bold decision to take on the lease for a local pub, giving their team the chance to have a job and stay with them. Happily, the pub is now open with their catering staff all fully employed and due to start serving delicious dishes. We think this move to protect their staff deserves a huge round of applause. Heaton House Farm is a beautiful venue situated on Cheshire’s border with Staffordshire. It boasts breathtaking views of both counties offering a wedding-day setting that dreams are made of. The capsule collection will consist of stand-alone pieces all made from 9ct or 18ct Fairmined gold, in yellow and white, along with fully traceable sapphire and Canadamark diamonds. The collection was inspired by two necklaces founder Francesca made for her and her sister following the passing of their grandmother. The sisters wanted to use their inheritance to invest in something life-long, selecting two diamonds, which now have a permanent place around their necks, serving as a beautiful reminder of their family. Francesca felt it was time to share the joy a piece of fine jewellery can bring, memories it can hold, and the commitment it can show. The result for Anuka was this collection of contemporary, timeless and deluxe fine jewellery, designed to represent love and devotion. Check out www.anuka-jewellery.com 10
