Your Cheshire and Merseyside Wedding - July/August 2020 (Issue 52)
During the drinks reception and wedding breakfast, the fantastic singer Jade Gallagher performed on the rooftop terrace. The wedding cake had four tiers – the bottom was classic vanilla with raspberries, the second was Sicilian lemon with crushed meringue pieces, the third was double Belgium chocolate, and the top tier was elderflower and gin flavour. Other styling elements included a doughnut wall and sweet cart, baskets full of toys for the children and flip flops for some comfort on the dancefloor. The centrepieces were floral domes in the middle of each table with tea lights hanging from them. They contained blooms to match mine and the bridesmaids’ bouquets. There was also a stunning draped top-table design. I made the bouquets and buttonholes with my mum. We purchased flowers from a wholesalers and mum learned how to put them together on YouTube. I have lovely memories of us working together. We also had a lovely floral arch placed at the entrance to the rooftop terrace. Our table plan was held by a silver-framed mirror, and the place and table names were all coordinated in the same colour palette and design as our invitations. We also had orders of service and fans made for the bridal party to keep. 36
