Built in 1767 by John Carr of York, the elegant, light Georgian state rooms display original paintings and furniture collected over the centuries by the Leicester Family, which will fill you with wonder. Artworks include some fine examples by Turner, Lawrence and Reynolds, while furniture by Gillow, Bullock and Chippendale is also on display. Set amongst delightful parkland, the open fields look out over one of Cheshire’s most scenic historic views – Tabley Tower and Mere. This stunning Palladian mansion offers a grand entrance for your guests, as they ascend the sweeping south-facing portico steps, and the red-brick and Runcorn-sandstone columns give the house warmth and grandeur. There’s a separate entrance for you and your bridesmaids as well as a selection of elegant Regency- period rooms available for your morning preparations, so you can get ready in style. Within the immediate surroundings of the House are green nooks and classic architectural features, which offer the perfect backdrop for photographs. The extensive lawn to the front of the House features an attractive sundial, and just a short scenic walk away lies the 17 th -century St Peter’s chapel where confetti may be thrown. You have the opportunity, as part of your wedding day package, to have photographs taken throughout the State Rooms, which is surely one to take advantage of. You can also take up the offer of a free rehearsal should you wish. Wedding dates at Tabley are available through the year and on any day of the week (apart from a two-week period over Christmas and New Year). It’s also worth noting that, as a registered charity, all monies from weddings contribute to the running and care of The Tabley House Collection, allowing it to be enjoyed by future generations. THE “I DOS” The Gallery Rich in colour and classic in style this is considered to be one of the finest rooms in Cheshire. Don’t forget to look up at the rather fabulous and romantic blue-sky ceiling. Guest list: 100 ceremony The Portico Room Providing a blank canvas for your vows, The Portico has a restrained cream and white scheme, with classic plasterwork and original polished floorboards. It also offers a most splendid spot for a champagne reception. Raise a glass while you enjoy the views across Tabley Mere. You can choose from canapés, a cold buffet or a Georgian afternoon Tea.
