Your Cheshire and Merseyside Wedding - May/June 2020 (Issue 51)

After we said our vows, Andy pointed to the far side of the room where a lady was waving at me. A very talented artist, she was doing a live painting of the day. She stayed until the evening to get it finished and guests loved seeing it develop. It was an amazing surprise. For our table plan we got a large white frame, which we backed with hessian and added string with the table numbers pegged to it. I was happy with the way it turned out. Our amazing florist made our centrepieces. We had a mixture of tall vases, which were also used to flank the aisle, and lanterns surrounded by candles and flowers. I wanted our flower arrangements to feature a neutral colour palette with lots of foliage and touches of lilac. They were so much better than we could ever have imagined. They made the room look perfect. We felt so lucky to have my stepdad’s sister, Karen, make our cake as a wedding present. She even made the topper exactly as I had in mind. One tier was Victoria sponge, one was chocolate and the other was lemon and elderflower. The idea for the place names was mum’s. They were a bit different as they were wrapped around the napkins, rather than being traditional cards. I spotted our “mint to be” favours on Pinterest, and we wrapped them in lilac paper to suit our theme. REAL WEDDINGS 27
