Your Cheshire and Merseyside Wedding - May/June 2020 (Issue 51)

I tried on so many dresses, but kept coming back to the idea of a simple style. I’m petite so anything big just didn’t look right. Boutique Brides of Crosby was fantastic, the consultant found my dress straight away – Paget by La Sposa. Andy wore his RAF uniform for the ceremony, which he looked very smart in. Afterwards, like a true diva, he changed into a navy checked suit. The groomsmen all wore plain navy suits with lilac ties and pocket squares, as did Andy’s dad, and my grandad and stepdad. My bridesmaids were dressed in lilac dresses with low backs and a sash. The flowergirls looked gorgeous in white dresses and guests had tears in their eyes as they scattered petals. The Abbey Suite at Doubletree by Hilton Chester is really what attracted us to the venue. The exposed brick walls gave it a barn feel, but with all the benefits of being situated within a modern hotel. My grandad means a lot to me, so having a moment with him before we walked down the aisle was very special. I’d been calm up until that point, but started to get nervous and emotional as we set off. Andy doesn’t usually outwardly show his feelings, but even he began to well up as he waited for me. 26
