Your Cheshire & Merseyside Wedding - November/December 2019 (Issue 48)

We opted for table numbers instead of names as we didn’t want to over complicate things by adding in ship names when we already had a Christmas and sparkle theme. The British Heart Foundation is close to our hearts, so we gifted the charity’s pin badges as favours. Our chief bridesmaid’s mum made the cake. We knew she intended to make us a couple of tiers as a gift, but when we saw the finished article, we were stunned! It was four-tiers, frosted, decorated with roses and had a cake topper. We kept our flowers simple and elegant using white roses, gypsophila and greenery. We both have a sweet tooth so we filled jars with penny sweets and attached guests’ names calligraphed on luggage tags. The top table’s name cards were decorated with bows and pearl hearts. Our centrepieces were trees that lit up. My bridesmaids and I decorated them with baubles and hanging crystals the evening before the wedding. We spent a lot of time making the table plan from white, navy and gold card. Our advice? Pay someone to make it for you! REAL WEDDINGS 39 
