Your Cheshire & Merseyside Wedding - May/June 2019 (Issue 45)
We wanted a non-traditional day, something different, natural and relaxed. After an online search I fell in love with Betty’s Tipis and once I’d spoken to the owner, Jack, the deal was sealed. It offered a Pinterest-worthy setting where we could dance the night away under the stars. He also introduced us to GreenAcres Rainford where we were able to officially tie the knot – we became their first ever wedding. My mother Lynda made the table plan. It was like a dream catcher with flowers to match our theme. It’s something I’ll always treasure and it now hangs in my little girl’s playroom. We chose rustic flowers with lavender and gold letters in wooden boxes for our centrepieces. I bought some beautiful artificial rustic flowers, which you would never know weren’t real unless you were close up. They were all tied with yarn. Instead of a cake we chose to put the money into a bouncy castle for the kiddies to enjoy, along with a popcorn stand. Dotted around the venue were things very personal to us – old photographs and so on. Above the top table was the word “hope.” A few days before I found John, while wondering if my soulmate was out there, my little girl handed me a plaque that said “hope.” So it seemed perfect that it should be part of our day. 48
