Your Cheshire & Merseyside Wedding - May/June 2019 (Issue 45)
REAL WEDDINGS 35 such a grand place, we knew we wanted it to feature on our stationery.” The table names were places the couple had stayed all over the world and the top table was labeled Augill – the setting of their romantic engagement. LOOKING THE PART The bride chose the beautifully simple Pronovias Bena gown, she tells us, “It was very flattering and made me feel amazing.” Being a fan of bling, she added a diamante belt and cathedral veil also embellished with a sprinkle of sparkle. Despite originally believing she would go for something in lace with a fishtail, it didn’t feel special. She says, “It was only when Louise at Swarbricks asked me to keep an open mind and try on the Pronovias that I felt that instant connection.” Wearing suits for work, Daniel knew he wanted something different, so opted to wear a three-piece morning suit. He accessorised with an ivory patterned waistcoat, burgundy cravat and pocket square. The groomsmen wore the same but with a pop of colour in the waistcoats to complement the theme and the bridesmaids. The bride squad all chose their own dress design and Jodie ordered them in the same colour and fabric. Chief bridesman, Jason, wore a slim light grey suit with a waistcoat and dickie bow to match the dresses. “We wanted him to complement the girls, while looking different to the groomsmen,” the bride explains. TIME TO CELEBRATE During the ceremony and drinks reception a string quartet played classical music befitting the venue. Later they busted out some less traditional tunes as Jodie walked down the aisle to Beyoncé and guests sipped champagne to the Jurassic Park theme. As Jodie says, “Who doesn’t love that on the strings?!” An illusionist entertained throughout the day to keep the younger guests occupied. “Little did we know some of the older guests would get more enjoyment out of it,” Jodie laughs. “Spencer was great at picking out the more skeptical and blowing their minds.” Non-stop music and dancing was on the agenda for the evening celebrations, which the DJ catered for excellently. MEMORABLE MOMENT Jodie remembers, “When we were announced into the dining hall and the large wooden doors swung open, we were met with the loudest cheers, smiling faces and biggest round of applause ever. It was such an amazing feeling to see everyone all together and enjoying the results of the hard work we’d put into making the day an experience for everyone.” WITH SPECIAL THANKS “Wayne at Knowsley Hall was without doubt the glue that held everything together,” says the bride, “He was there throughout the whole day, coordinating everyone, making sure we ate and had a drink at all times. He generally took great care of us and our guests, more so than we could ever have imagined or asked for.”
