Your Cheshire & Merseyside Wedding - May/June 2019 (Issue 45)

REAL WEDDINGS 33 D espite working in the same place, in the same building, and on the same floor, Jodie and Daniel had never crossed paths until they met in the pub after work one evening. Jodie says, “We both love to laugh at ourselves and each other. There was an instant attraction and we both felt completely at ease in each other’s company.” As was the couple’s tradition they’d planned a meal and hotel stay to celebrate their third anniversary, but this time Daniel had booked somewhere extra special, keeping the location a surprise. He drove them both to the stunning Augill Castle in Kirkby Stephen and despite the five-star treatment there, Jodie still had no idea that Daniel had anything up his sleeve, right up to the point he bent down on one knee while out for a romantic stroll after dinner in the castle gardens. The pair visited a number of wedding venues, but didn’t get the feeling they’d found the one until they set foot into Knowsley Hall. Jodie explains, “It’s absolutely breathtaking with so many spectacular features inside and out. We took one look around and knew we wanted to celebrate our special day there.” Here, the bride tells us more about 7 th October, 2017 – W-day… SETTING THE SCENE Natural greens with deep rich colours formed the day’s palette reflecting the time of year. Deep red was the accent colour of choice, which was incorporated into the bridal party’s outfits, stationery and flowers. The bride carried a waterfall bouquet with peachy whites, berries and green and red leaves. She explains, “We wanted the room to smell amazing and be a feast for the senses, so the floral arrangements contained rosemary and eucalyptus.” Large displays held in tall clear glass vases created the wow factor, whilst the twinkling tea lights suspended from the stems added warmth. The pair knew they had to keep the big-day bake classy and elegant so opted for a four-tier cake adorned with gold initials and flavoured with carrot, lemon and red velvet. The day featured many personal touches contributed by and in honour of loved ones. Jodie’s late miniature dachshund, TJ, made an appearance in the custom-made cake topper, bunting handmade by friend Rachel was incorporated into the venue styling and mini cartoon versions of the bride and groom created by the best woman were perched on the post box. The table plan tied in perfectly with the selected palette and complemented the rest of the stationery. Jodie explains, “Cheryl at Pink Sherbet designed them all and completely understood what we were aiming for.
