Your Cheshire & Merseyside Wedding - Mar/Apr 2019 (Issue 44)
We had laser-cut wooden names as place settings from VM Bespoke. They were so classy and great for our loved ones to have as a memento. Instead of favours we had a magic mirror so everyone could take home a picture from the wedding. Matt’s Ted Baker suit was in a fantastic blue that really stood out from his groomsmen, who wore navy suits. The lining had a bee and honeycomb design, which meant a lot to us as a tribute to the people involved in the Manchester Arena attack. It was surprisingly difficult to find yellow bridesmaid dresses. Luckily, with an 18-month engagement I was able to shop in spring the year before when the colour was easier to find. My six best girls looked stunning in strapless, full-length numbers. We had a pianist for the ceremony and drinks reception, then a saxophonist called Ellie Sax; she was amazing and got everyone on the dancefloor. Later on, a DJ played a brilliant mix of music from Coldplay to Disney. We felt ready to get married but we were still nervous because we’d been planning it for so long and we wanted it to be perfect. The weather was changing from blue skies to blizzards, which was initially frustrating but it ended up making fantastic photos. REAL WEDDINGS 51
