Your Cheshire & Merseyside Wedding - Mar/Apr 2019 (Issue 44)
Colshaw Hall was our top choice as it’s local to us and we loved the classic manor house style with a modern twist. The grounds were full of wow factor photo opportunities but we knew we couldn’t rely on the British weather, so we needed plenty of indoor space too. Matt had the final say over our cake and it ended up being a real feature of the day. The Cherry Blossom Bakery made a simplistic, buttercream design; it was so much better than we could’ve imagined! We opted for a three-tier bake of lemon, caramel and sticky toffee flavours. We opted for a pale yellow palette as it’s Matt’s favourite colour. We thought it’d coordinate with the daffodils but we ended up with a snowy backdrop instead! Kate at The Mustard Seed Florist did a fantastic job of creating my vision with Catalina garden roses as the main flower. They were used in our centrepieces, which were traditional glass vases with yellow and ivory flowers with an abundance of foliage. I even had my bouquet preserved in a paperweight by The Flower Preservation Workshop. After watching almost every episode of Say Yes to The Dress , I knew I wanted a mermaid style with ruffles. I fell in love with Mildred by Pronovias. It was so dramatic at the bottom that I kept accessories to a minimum with a simple scallop-edged veil. 50
