Think clean, white lines with a simple yet elegant feature. These are definitely topping the list of looks and styles at the moment.” “There are two main styles I can see in next year’s enquiries: simple and elegant buttercream cakes or fondant covered designs with lots of handcrafted decoration.” – Joanna Pyda Cake Studio TIERS OF JOY If you have in mind an extravagant six-tier showstopper but not the budget to go with it, there is a solution: floating tiers. Using spacers or false tiers the cake has the illusion of extra height without the price tag associated with a skyscraper. This is also a great solution if you’re looking to keep your big day as environmentally-conscious as possible. Of course, you’ll want to keep waste down, so you can simply opt for one cutting tier layered with clear Perspex or dummy tiers, which your cake maker can use again and again, so nothing wasted. When your cake is whisked away to be cut into portions, no one need be any the wiser! Another solution to this cake conundrum is... macarons! In 2024, we fully expect to see more incredible macaron towers.
