Your Bristol & Somerset Wedding - December/January 2023/2024 (Issue 98)

The best man, Luke, and page boys wore matching navy blue three-piece suits and dusky pink ties. They all had matching buttonholes too. The flowergirls wore A-line, knee-length, satin tulle dresses with a heartshaped cut out at the back. They were a similar style to my dress and the girls looked beautiful. Mark wore a navy blue three-piece suit with a dusky pink tie to complement the bridesmaids’ dresses. I gave him a gift too the morning of the wedding. It was a pin containing a photo of his late mother with some beautiful words. This way his mum would still be in every photo with him and there throughout our special day. The bridesmaids wore dusky pink midi skater dresses with a ribbon tie at the back – simple but beautiful. I stumbled across them online and knew my girls would look wonderful in them. I was so nervous when looking for a dress! I went to Rookery Bridal where they were amazing and there was lot of choice. I tried on about eight gowns, before trying on a Lilian West design that I never thought I’d do justice to, but it was the one! I fell in love with its romantic vibe and long train. Our rustic favour boxes included a dusky pink heart shaped chocolate, along with a jigsaw piece to take away as a gift to remember the day. We also included a small highlighter pen so everyone could play a game of bingo with us, as each place name contained a bingo card. Saying our vows was a very special moment. Our flowergirls, my daughter (aged 8) and stepdaughter (aged 7) wrote a beautiful speech by themselves – I couldn’t not cry! Seeing the kids all dressed up and being part of the ceremony meant so much to us. 34
