Louise and James’ big day was brimming with personal elements and touches to reflect our beautiful county Images courtesy of Jo Hansford Photography A s first date locations go, the work canteen isn’t the norm, but it worked for Louise and James. “I moved jobs and a friend got in touch to say he knew one of my new colleagues, called James,” Louise remembers. “He suggested it might be good to have lunch with him to get to know the company better.” And the rest, as they say, is history. James knew he wanted to propose, but hadn’t nailed down a particular date. “I decided that I would do it the next time that Louise suggested a walk to local beauty spot The Seven Sisters on Cothelstone Hill in the Quantocks,” James tells us. “This happened to be on the early May bank holiday in 2018. We had a picnic dinner and I popped the question as the sun set,” James says. “Louise was totally taken by surprise!” The pair set the date for 25 th May, 2019, and they knew the wedding had to take place in their beloved Somerset – the county where James grew up and where Louise keeps and rides her horse.
