The East Village Café were am azing, providing options that w ere gluten-free, vegan and organic. For the non-vegans we stocked up on steaks and seafood for a barbec ue surf ’n’ turf – this kept Sean happy as he’s from New Zealand! I run my own company, so adapting plans meant a lot of manoeuvring, but the hardest part was that Sean’s family couldn’t join us. This was really sad for us and the most difficult aspect of changing plans because of the pandemic. We did a few video calls and live-streamed the ceremony to family and friends around the world, and in the evenin g we watched a video compilation of messages from friends.
