Your Bristol & Somerset Wedding - February / March 2021 (Issue 81)

I didn’t want a big white dress, so I wore a simple figure- hugging number; it was minimal but still made me feel special. I teamed it with my nan’s gloves that she wore on her wedding day. With his grey Reiss suit, Sean wore kiwi bird cufflinks that I bought him so he could feel connected to his home. Instead of place names, everyone got a card; I designed these as I run my own design company (www.gtdesigns.org). Ea ch envelope included a long personal message of thanks, and the first clue to a treasure hunt that we put on for everyone! If you haven’t had cake from Ahh Toots, you’re missing out! We had a few vegan guests, so we ordered a large chocolate vegan cake covered in gorgeous flowers and fruits. Alongside it were delicious gluten-free and vegan vanilla cupcakes with a berry and bay jam. We only had six guests so we went all out and got them each a personal gift, which they had to find on our treasure hunt. From memory books and engraved luggage tags to rose bushes, we wanted to make everyone feel special. My family decorated our home for the evening. My mum and sister went to town with fairylights, balloons and wonderful decorations hanging in the windows. Everything was white so it gave the space a very open, light feel.
