Your Bristol & Somerset Wedding - February / March 2021 (Issue 81)
Spotlight on… HESTERCOMBE GARDENS 01823 413 923 | www.hestercombe.com/weddings WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT? The happy couple can enjoy a choice of historic venues within 50 acres of lovingly restored gardens, featuring lakes, light-dappled pathways and stunning views of the Blackdown Hills. The idyllic scenery is tended by a team of skilled gardeners all year round. LET’S CELEBRATE! The Orangery (90 guests) is a beautiful hamstone building, designed by British architect Sir Edwin Lutyens. Licensed for ceremonies, it offers an idyllic setting for all styles of wedding and allows brides and grooms to enjoy a light-filled space before spilling out to enjoy drinks on the lawn. The Bampfylde Hall (150 guests) dates back to 1680. High ceilings and dramatic timber beams make it a fantastic place for a couple to enjoy their ceremony, wedding breakfast and party. The fairy-lit canopy creates a charming atmosphere. For something a little different, couples can have an open-air wedding in the 18 th -century temple (112 guests), which is perched high above the Pear Pond in the Landscape Gardens. A romantic hideaway, it boasts views across to Taunton Vale. WE LOVE… Smaller weddings can be held within the rooms of Hestercombe House for a more intimate feel. Venue capacities may change amid the coronavirus pandemic.
