Your Bristol & Somerset Wedding - April/May 2020 (Issue 76)
I’ve always wanted to tie the knot at Church of St. Mary and St. Peter in Winford, as it’s where I grew up. It looked incredible when it was all dressed in foliage to suit our rustic theme. Batch Country House offered the personal service we were looking for in a cosy setting with a picturesque countryside backdrop. As it was a winter wedding on the shortest day of the year, we needed ample indoor space – its welcoming fireplaces and comfy sofas were a winner. We chose a winter theme with lots of natural elements. The bouquets were made up of leafy green shoots, cream roses and gypsophila. I made the centrepieces by filling milk bottles with gypsophila and sitting them on vintage books alongside tea lights and pinecones. As it was December, the venue was already decorated with stunning pine trees. We added personal touches such as homemade signs, bunting and fairylights. We didn’t want to it to be overtly Christmassy but there were a few subtle nods. 34
