The other element to our day was a rustic, natural approach. There were copper lanterns holding candles, pine cones, winter florals and ivy vines. Our cake was a semi-naked creation, which coordinated brilliantly with our palette of purple and taupe. The men wore short tailcoats in a deep blue. Dave and the best man stood out with tweed waistcoats. My best girls looked beautiful in flowing full-length halter neck numbers in taupe. REAL WEDDINGS 45  I found my gown in White Lace & Promises. It was the style I felt suited me best, and I felt comfortable in it – mentally and physically. I made it my own by removing a lace section around the bust and adding additional trim to the bottom. I accessorised with a silver diamanté bracelet.
