Your Bristol & Somerset Wedding - Apr/May 2019 (Issue 70)

The table plan was a last-minute addition. I whitewashed a pallet that I’d found at work and used string and pegs to hold the place cards. It gave a rustic feel and reflected our laid-back vibe. I matched the colour and fonts to all our other homemade stationery. My style is very classic, so I wanted to reflect this with my dress. I wore India by Essense of Australia. I originally wanted a lace style, but after trying them on, I just didn’t suit the fabric. A crepe material felt so much more elegant. My dress – and the seamstress – made me feel amazing. During the ceremony, I wore my grandmother’s 100-year-old lace-trimmed veil. We surprised our guests with a mariachi band at the reception. There was no real reason other than that we thought it’d get everyone in the party spirit, which it did! They were followed by a brilliant covers band, which played sure-fire classics that got people running to the dancefloor. Finally, my brother-in-law did a DJ set, and he played the perfect mix of tunes. I took some time in the morning to go for a walk with my dog and sister; I felt so relaxed, and it led to a stress-free morning getting ready. Once I got in my dress, everything went by so fast. We had the best day of our lives and couldn’t have asked for it to go better. REAL WEDDINGS 55  James & Kerrie Photography did an incredible job. They were so patient and produced some incredible images to remind us of our perfect day. Garry, the wedding coordinator from the venue, was fantastic. He organised everything, remembered things we’d forgotten and even helped us to get ready in the morning.
