Your Bristol & Somerset Wedding - August/September 2024 (Issue 102)

A HELPING HAND Alongside her existing wedding packages, wedding planner Samantha Smart from Wedding Regency has launched two new packages bringing the total offer up to five. The Consultation and Management Package is perfect for couples who’d like full wedding support, but their budget doesn’t permit. “I can support couples in their planning and give them hints and tips on how to find their own suppliers, what to look out for and questions they should ask,” Samantha explains. “I’m present on their wedding day too to follow their guidance and ensure everything runs smoothly.” Also, available is a Consultation Only option. This is ideal for those who want to DIY their wedding. Wedding Regency will provide a pay-as-you-go service, where you can discuss any aspect of your wedding you’d like help with. Each session is an hour long, and there’s no contract or ties (on-the-day coordination not included). Intially focsing on the South West, Vino Zero has been established to offer the hospitality industry, specialist retailers and consumers direct premium dealcoholised wines, which truly represent the best of those available. With one in three consumers now looking for a non-alcoholic option, Vino Zero’s mission is to support its sales partners in expanding their choices of premium no and low alcohol. While it’s a booming market category, the wine element has been behind the curve. The basis for any good wine is excellent grapes, and no or low wine is no different. Co-founder Fiona Graham says, “Vino Zero was founded on the simple belief that everybody deserves quality and inclusion. When I personally decided to stop drinking a couple of years ago, it was apparent there wasn’t a huge amount of choice in the no and low wine space. We believe that when it comes to alcohol, it shouldn’t act as a barrier to the ritual of eating and drinking. Vino Zero is here to demonstrate to the hospitality industry and beyond that an alcohol-free choice is one that can equally serve up quality, taste and experience.” Produced in the Loire, the initial wine launches include a sparkling Sauvignon Blanc, Vigneron Sauvignon Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc, Rose and Chenin Blanc. The George, which is available to host wedding receptions, is nestled in a quaint Somerset village just outside of Bath. A stunning historical venue it dates back to the 14th century and is a castle-like building recently updated by the owner respecting and highlighting its many original and unique features. Since the refurb, The George now sits within Liberation’s Butcombe Boutique Inns division, offering premium food, drink and accommodation in the shape of 13 charming bedrooms. The National Pub & Bar Awards judges said they were impressed with the immaculate venue, as well as the quality of food and drink offered across all of its menus. Despite being such a historical site, they noted how industry-leading the food and drink side of the business is. “This is absolutely amazing,” says general manager Linda Johnson. “I’m so proud and so emotional! I’m just so passionate about my team, the company that supports us, and obviously The George Inn and what we’re all about.” Find out about hosting your celebrations at The George Inn at https://butcombe.com/the-george-inn-somerset/wedding-venue
