Your Bristol & Somerset Wedding - June/July 2024 (Issue 101)

We walked into the Registry Office together to Danger! High Voltage by Electric Six. Theirs was the first gig we went to together in 2019. Then we exited to War by The Idles, one of our favourite bands who we’ve seen live four times. Then Phil and I walked hand in hand to the Registry Office in the sunshine. We signed the register to The Horrors’ Still Life, a beautiful song featuring the lyrics: ‘The moment that you want is coming if you give it time. When you wake you up, when you wake up, you’ll find me.’ I felt really emotional. When I saw Phil waiting for me on the stairs that morning, we both started crying. Phil looked so handsome in a black three-piece suit with velvet trim, red cravat, black patent leather shoes and red rose in his lapel. I decided that I wanted either a red or a black dress, not a wedding dress per se, but still something beautiful. Neither of us wanted a traditional wedding but rather a day that reflected our styles and personalities. We chose the gown together, and I accessorised it with a black veil and red flowers in my hair. I also wore the most amazing silver stilettos! 36
