SETTING THE SCENE Hannah and Alfie decided to get married in the church located in the village where Hannah grew up. “My parents and aunt and uncle were married there and my cousins were christened there so there was a strong family connection to it,” she tells us. “Hotel La Tour was being built while we were planning our wedding. We had already booked another venue which closed down due to the pandemic so we looked online and found Hotel La Tour and both fell in love with it. We signed the contract and paid the deposit while it was still being built and crossed our fingers that it would be open in time for the big day. We drove past most days and watched it transform from a 14-storey cement block into the beautiful venue that it is today.” The couple decided on a pretty blush pink and navy colour theme. “We chose white and blush pink flowers that matched the bridesmaids’ dresses,” Hannah explains. “Our table plan was decorated with light pink and blush-coloured flowers that looked perfect for our spring wedding date. Belvedere Castle, the backdrop for our engagement in NYC, was the natural choice of name for our top table and our place names were created in the same colours and design as the table plan, invitations and table names.” The couple also had miniature perfumes and aftershaves as favours gifted in white bags with Lindor chocolates on the tables. Hannah and Alfie wanted a relaxed vibe on their day so decided on a barbecue for their wedding breakfast with a pizza buffet during the evening. “We chose this because we met whilst working in a pizza restaurant,” they tell us. 34
