Q&A Our experts reveal all about big-day skincare and make-up Beauty SEASONAL SHADES I’m planning my winter wedding and need some make-up ideas using autumnal shades. I’m a brunette with brown eyes - can you help? Meet the expert: Kirsty Pritchard is the talent behind Kirsty Louise Make Up Artist based in Buckinghamshire. She has more than ten years experience in the beauty industry and she specialises in bridal make-up. Kirsty says: I love a winter wedding and cannot wait for the season to arrive so that I can use more autumnal shades on my brides. One of my best kept secrets for enhancing brown eyes is to smudge a warm brown eye shadow or eyeliner pencil with coppery undertones on to the lash line which will enhance the hazel and green flashes in brown eyes and make them pop! Using bronze metallic shades and shimmery tones on the eyes also contrast strikingly against brown eyes. Poppy Wilson is a fully qualified make-up artist and hair stylist with more than seven years’ of experience. She freelances in fashion, television, editorial and celebrity and has extensive experience working with brides. Poppy says: Every bride wants to feel their most beautiful on their wedding day and one of the key things is to look after your skin in the lead-up to it. You also need to manage your expectations because skin will always have imperfections, pores and texture. There are things that you can do once you’ve evaluated your skin to make it look the best that it can. Focus on the things you’d like to improve. One of the main things I find my brides want to improve is the dullness of their skin - they want to achieve a healthy radiant glow. Make-up can certainly help with this but if the skin is well looked after with a good skincare regime, it will enhance the make-up application. Vitamin C is one of the best ingredients to help achieve radiant skin so look for a product with a high powerful amount of this in, preferably a serum as this penetrates the skin deeper than a moisturiser.
