family A AFFAIR Lucy and Darran’s rustic wedding in the Stable Barn at The Old Mill Aldermaston, Reading was decorated with soft lilac and grey touches Images courtesy of Jennie Colbourne Photography L ucy and Darran met on a night out with friends. “We started talking and it wasn’t long before we enjoyed our first date together where we sat and chatted for hours,” Lucy tells us. “Darran went to pay at the end of the evening but forgot his wallet which was rather amusing!” The couple became engaged during a surprise December proposal. “Darran asked me to marry him on the 18 th December which was the date that we met seven years previously,” Lucy tells us. “He put the ring in my advent calendar on that day! I didn’t even realise that he’d opened the calendar at one end and as I started to prise open the window, he got down on one knee and asked whether we could spend the rest of our lives together!
