ANIMAL instinct Kat and Paul’s reception at The Tudor Barn Burnham was styled with romantic red touches and a nod to their love of animals Images courtesy of Gabrielle McMillan Photography K at and Paul met at a local pub when they were 18 years old. “We were in the same friendship group and got along really well,” Kat tells us. “Five years later I thought, he’s pretty funny, let’s start dating!” The couple became engaged during a trip to Canada. “We had completed a 10-kilometre hike to discover Garibaldi Lake when he asked me to marry him,” Kat says. “It was the final day of an amazing two-week trip and it came as a total surprise to me (although our friends knew about Paul’s plan!) He had hidden the engagement ring in his trainers for the entire holiday! Here, Kat tells us all about their special day with a church ceremony followed by a reception at The Tudor Barn Burnham.
