Secondly, I love people - I’m a wife, mother, daughter and a businesswoman so can empathise with the diversity of family relationships and love nothing more than capturing the essence of family life. Weddings represent 70 per cent of my business and I consider myself hugely fortunate in doing what I love. Many of my couples remain clients for years enjoying family photography sessions and some have become our friends. David tells us, “although weddings have essentially the same structure, they are each completely unique in their own way and that is what keeps me interested in photographing them.” He continues, “it’s the people themselves that make the day so special because their personalities shine. She says, “weddings are so unique, each person brings their personal touches and ideas to their special day. As I get to know each couple before their wedding, every detail of it is exciting to hear about. On the day, there’ll be things that I didn’t know about too - no wedding is ever the same and that’s what makes it so exhilarating!” She continues, “when I work with a couple, they often become friends and we keep in touch. The most wonderful thing for me is when they come to my studio for portraits, be it newborn photos, pet portraits or family shoots. It warms my heart to seem them again and watch their family grow.” Here is a selection of some of her favourite wedding snaps. “This ice cream picture is fantastic, I knew the couple were hiring a van but it was such a hot day so proved to be very popular with their guests! A wedding at Carter’s Steam Fair is always plenty of fun, and the bridesmaids wearing Cath Kidston-inspired dresses is so beautiful.
