Your Berks, Bucks and Oxon Wedding - August/September 2020 (Issue 84)
PHOTOGRAPHY 59 “Photographing the groom and his buddies is always such a fun experience, they get dressed in no time so I have to be ready to capture their getting ready shots! This groom and his friends wanted me to capture a photo they could hang on their walls for generations to see. I love how he is looking directly at me and his friends are caught up in the moment.” - Sapna Who? Photos by Sapna Odlin Where? We had a lot of fun capturing this shot!” - Sapna “The best thing about this wedding from a photographer's point of view was this beautiful bride's gold wedding dress! She looked like a goddess. Her gorgeous wild flower bouquet matched her dress perfectly. Their reception was in an old warehouse where they served beers for drinks and pie and mash for the wedding breakfast.” - Sapna Who? The sparkler shot is always a tricky one to capture because you need to freeze the movement with a burst of flash but leave enough ambient light to show the sparklers and the guests' expressions. This one was just right - their expressions make it perfect." - David “Just as the bride sat down at the registrar table at this outdoor wedding at The Dairy at Waddesdon, Bucks, along came a huge gust of wind. I love the natural and joyful expression of the bride as the wind catches her veil and blows it in the air perfectly to create a circle behind her head where you can just view the seated guests through it. This type of image is all about seeing and reacting to the scene and pressing the shutter at exactly the right time." - David “I have never seen a bridesmaid so happy to catch a wedding bouquet than at this celebration at Hedsor House in Buckinghamshire. Her beaming expression and that of her best friend is priceless! She grabbed the flowers with such force you can see the petals flying off. I'd joked with her when chatting in the bridal prep about how single people often meet their partner at a wedding and she was taking no chances!" - David “At Jewish weddings, the Israeli dancing is always one of the highlights where the bride and groom are held aloft on two chairs and whirled around the room. It always provokes the best reactions from total fear (of falling off) to joy and excitement, like at this Jewish wedding last year. When shooting these types of photographs, the adrenaline is always flowing so you need to get high on a chair or table and hope that the action comes your way and shoot lots and lots of pictures to capture everything that's going on!" - David Who? The bride's pageboy, who was her son, kisses her just before he walks her down the aisle." - Loren “That moment, before the kiss, when there's so much love and passion shared. That moment takes your breath away." - Loren
