BADGEMORE PARK, HENLEY-ON-THAMES, OXFORDSHIRE Set within 30 acres of neatly manicured lawns, a picturesque sunken garden and a collection of specimen trees gifted to the Greenlands estate over many years is this elegant wedding venue located within the University of Reading. The stunning backdrop of the River Thames commands views of the surrounding river meadows and beyond. The approach to Greenlands is along a private drive leading through a meadow which runs alongside the river and on arrival, a white Grade II listed building with a portico entrance greets couples and provides an idyllic photographic backdrop. There’s a 100-bedroom hotel on-site with special bed and breakfast rates for wedding guests, and a private landing stage located within the spacious grounds. Inside there’s a sweeping staircase, decorative pillars, elegant panelling and magnificent architecture, with every room within the main house showcasing individual and unique features. Ceremonies take place in a variety of elegant areas. The Garden Common Room situated off the terrace entrance hall within the main house accommodates up to 116 guests. Highlights are the hand- painted murals and double bay windows with views towards the river. The River House Atrium located adjacent to the main house can hold up to 120 guests and offers a modern and versatile space ideal for couples wanting a blank canvas which they can decorate. The Blue Room is a smaller option, best suited to an intimate ceremony of up to 60 guests. The wedding breakfast takes place in the Heyworth Restaurant overlooking the main lawn stretching down to the riverbank for up to 120 guests. Evening receptions can also take place here following a quick turn around while guests enjoy the terrace or lounge areas.
