Your Berks, Bucks and Oxon Wedding - April/May 2020 (Issue 82)
It was the happiest day of our lives! Our bridesmaids wore the same dresses but in different pastel colours and our flowergirls had dresses made to match. My dress was a Miss Stella York gown from Bride to Be in Reading. It was so comfortable as soon as I tried it on, yet still had a wow-factor open back. I knew instantly that I had found the one and couldn’t wait to wear it for our big day. Our three tier semi-naked wedding cake was covered in flowers matching our theme. “We decided that our wed- ding favours would be dona- tions to two charities close to our hearts and that all our guests would be given a pin badge to mark the donations we had made. This was a special touch and personal to both of us.” ~ Becky Howard wore a grey suit with a lovely tweed waist coast. We wanted some tweed somewhere but had no idea what the weather would be like in mid-September. Thankfully, we only went for tweed waistcoats as we were blessed with sunshine for our wedding day! The groom’s party joined Howard in the same suit with pastel ties and were each given customised cufflinks of the places they lived and met Howard. We were surprised during our wedding breakfast to a performance by Emily Carmichael which really took our breaths away. REAL WEDDINGS 31
