L izzie and Tim met through an online dating app, after a friend insisted she’d find Lizzie a nice guy. The picture of Tim in his suit proved crucial, as knowing Lizzie’s penchant for a well- dressed man, the friend then messaged him. The next day he responded, and when they met up, they instantly clicked. When they went to New York at the end of 2017, Lizzie’s friends were convinced Tim would propose. “I said it wasn’t his style, so I completely shut them down,” admits the bride. “After an amazing trip with lots of romantic outings, we boarded the plane home on New Year’s Eve. As we took off just after midnight we were looking down on the amazing New York skyline when, completely out of nowhere, Tim produced a ring from his pocket and proposed. I couldn’t have been more surprised. We were brought champagne and toasted in the new year and our engagment from the air.” ADVANCE PREPARATIONS The couple struggled to find the right venue until they saw Easthampstead Park.“We were in awe of the building as it came into view from the long, beautiful driveway and stunning surroundings,” says Lizzie. “Inside, we both instantly fell in love with the ornate stair case and stained glassed windows.
