Grand but not intimidating, this family-run venue is ideal for a country house celebration. The lime-tree avenue makes for an impressive approach, and the back has a terrace with stunning open views. There are tons of photo opportunities, from the lavender paths to the orchards. You can say your vows in the Dining Room in front of up to 77 of your loved ones. For a more intimate affair, wed in the Yellow Room, which holds up to 50 – both are south-facing so get plenty of natural light. Between April and October, the terrace is available, allowing up to 200 friends and family to be present. When it comes to the reception, the marquee – with a hard-carpeted floor, fully equipped kitchen, toilets and bar and a beautiful block-printed fabric ceiling – is far more than the average, holding up to 300 guests for the wedding breakfast or evening reception. THE TYTHE BARN, OX26 4SR The Tythe Barn in Launton is a 14 th -century thatched barn that’s steeped in history and oozes character, from the original beams to the floor- to-ceiling glass doors that bring the light flooding in. Brought fully up to date, the interior is decked with fairylights and a sound system hidden in the beautiful stone walls. And the gardens offer pretty pathways and pergolas for your photographs. The main barn has room for up to 150 loved ones for the ceremony and up to 220 for an evening reception, while the Cowshed offers a more intimate setting, with up to 40 friends and family for the ceremony and wedding breakfast.
