Your Berks, Bucks & Oxon Wedding - Feb/Mar 2019 (Issue 75)

74 An experienced photographer will have a vast repertoire of shots to draw from. Having worked with many couples in various locations and situations, they will be able to guide you as to the best poses that work for you – shots that are natural and don’t make you feel uncomfortable. It’s about capturing pictures of you being you but being guided by your photographer. Discuss images you’d like prior to the wedding and provide examples from Pinterest or other internet resources so that your photographer can visualise what’s in your mind’s eye. If you need advice on timings and planning, ask for their help. An engagement shoot can help the couple and the photographer to get to know one another, and the feedback can help the photographer to find the pictures they love and the ones they really love. My photography aims to capture those special moments as they happen, with little direction from me. I meet many couples, and their biggest request is for a natural, unobtrusive and relaxed style of photography that tells the story of their romance and that would make a centrepiece in their home. This fully describes my style. I love the spontaneous way that couples interact with each other. I don’t get couples to do things that are not them or that make them feel awkward. Your wedding day is one of the most important days of your life. We are there more as observers, trying to be as unobtrusive as possible and recognising that it is your day and recording the events as they unfold.
