Charlotte and Josh met at work 13 years ago and became good friends. “Five years later, a good friendship developed into dinner dates and we realised we didn’t want to be apart,” Charlotte tells us. “We moved in together shortly after and have spent the last eight years laughing, travelling and eating our way through life!” The proposal came as a complete surprise for Charlotte. “Josh planned a perfect weekend away in Cornwall - a place we have always enjoyed visiting,” she tells us. “He asked me to marry him on the coast, against a backdrop of spectacular views, right in front of the Headland Hotel which my parents have visited each year for New Year, adding to our family memories.” SETTING THE SCENE The couple’s local church with family connections was where they wanted to hold their intimate ceremony. “This was the most important part of the day for us,” Charlotte says. “The emotion within the church was palpable - our lovely vicar Helen made the service so personal to us as a couple. Walking down the aisle, we felt such a connection and we could not have wished for a more perfect day.” Finding a reception venue to reflect Charlotte and Josh’s love of the English countryside was realised the moment they drove into Wormsley Estate. “Being a family home, it centred around what we treasure the most,” they tell us. “The special walled garden area was the perfect location to celebrate with our family and friends.” Charlotte and Josh wanted to ensure every part of their wedding was as sustainable as possible, with little waste. “Our stationary for the day “Our wedding was truly special, it was an intimate, emotional family day surrounded by those we love the most with a big party in the evening.” - Charlotte and Josh. 31 REAL WEDDINGS
